Say I do

In the Welsh Mountains

Where the views stretch for miles and the pace slows right down.

Just outside Abergavenny, Sugar Loaf Barn is a rustic-luxe wedding venue tucked away in the Brecon Beacons. Surrounded by 200 acres of rolling hills, orchards, meadows and woodland, it’s a vibrant, private escape — the perfect place to celebrate your day, your way, with nature all around, your favourite people by your side, and space to party into the night — from the dance floor to the fire pit.

A decorated rustic indoor event space with a wooden ceiling, string lights, mirror disco balls, and a neon sign saying 'Yours & Mine'. There is a long table set with candles, greenery, and bottles, with hay bale seats around it. A heart-shaped decoration hangs from the ceiling, with curtains partially covering a window on the right.

Your Day, Your Way

No two weddings here are the same — and that’s exactly how we like it. As a family-run, warm and rustic venue, we’re here to help you make the day truly yours. Whether it's pared-back and simple, wildly creative, or full of personal touches, this is your blank canvas.

No hidden fees, no surprises

We like to keep it simple. There’s no corkage fee for your table wine or toast drinks, and you’re free to choose any caterer or supplier you like — as long as they’re fully certified. It’s your day, your way, with no sneaky extras.

More Than Just a Day

Our four-day wedding package gives you time to settle in and savour every moment. Spend two days preparing and enjoying the build-up with loved ones, then celebrate your big day — relaxed and unrushed. The day after, there’s still space to reflect, reconnect, and take it all in together.

Rooted in Sustainability

At Sugar Loaf Barn, we believe in giving back to the land that makes this place so special. For every couple who gets married here, we plant a tree through our partnership with Stump Up For Trees — a local charity dedicated to woodland creation and biodiversity in the Brecon Beacons.

Alongside this, the wedding barn is powered by solar panels that feed back into the grid, our barn accommodation uses a ground source heat pump, and the shepherds' huts are fitted with solar lighting. We're proud to keep sustainability at the heart of everything we do — starting with the trees.

The venue itself is beautiful with amazing views but the team are outstanding and made our wedding what it was. The team were so enthusiastic and helpful from start to finish and their attention to detail was exceptional. James even brought me a toasted marshmallow at one point knowing I wouldn't have chance to do it myself and was always checking in to make sure we were having the best day possible. Having the option to have friends and family onsite as well was so lovely as we didn't actually get a huge amount of time to speak to them on the day and made the whole process far more relaxed. I would give the team and venue more than 5 stars if I could and can't thank them enough for the happiest weekend of our lives.
