Sustainability

at Sugar Loaf Barn

We care deeply about the land that surrounds us — it’s part of what makes Sugar Loaf Barn so special. That’s why we’re committed to keeping our environmental impact as low as possible.

The wedding barn is fitted with solar panels that feed clean energy back into the grid, while the barn accommodation is heated using a ground source heat pump, a renewable system that helps us reduce emissions. Our shepherds’ huts also use solar lighting, blending comfort with sustainability.

All the water used across the site comes from our own natural spring, giving you the purest water while helping us reduce reliance on mains supply.

We’ve partnered with local charity Stump Up For Trees, planting native trees to offset our carbon footprint and support woodland creation and biodiversity in the Brecon Beacons. For every couple who gets married here, we’ll plant a tree — a lasting way to honour your day while giving back to the landscape that makes it so memorable.

From renewable energy and recycling to reducing waste and sourcing locally wherever we can, we prioritise sustainability in the everyday running of the venue. It’s all part of looking after this beautiful place now and for the future.
